CRCST Certification Program
Program Description
The program is designed to accommodate individuals who are currently employed as Sterile Processing Technicians (SPT) or Central Services Technicians (CST) but never received formal and theoretical training in sterile processing. This program will prepare working technicians to become Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST).
With the many changes in the industry standards and processes in both instrumentation and equipment, the sterile processing technician will need to be familiar with those critical changes. The program will ensure that those seeking the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) certification are knowledgeable with the most current technological advancements, as well as, the highest industry standards. The course study will focus on these new standards and prepare the sterile processing technician for the IAHSCMM's CRCST certification exam.
The CRCST Certification Review Course is highly recommended for those who are already CBSPD certified and/or for technicians who have related work experience of four hundred (400) hours or more. Martinson College offers externship and clinical training placement with our affiliate facilities in Southern California. Please call for more information.
Please note that to obtain full CRCST certification, the student must have 400 hours of SPD/CS related work in addition to passing the certification exam.
